Plans to use 10-tonne Unimogs to transport whitewater rafters on a notorious Queenstown road are on hold because the company is not "fully comfortable" with the trip.
Adventure tourism company Go Orange wants to drive the 20-seater trucks into Skipper's Canyon on the 22-kilometre Skippers Rd, which was hand carved by early goldminers.
The company was not yet using Mercedes Benz Unimogs commercially in Skippers, manager Luke Taylor said.
"We're still in the process of training and evaluation and development of the product."
