Help keep the lights on this winter

Julia de Ruiter from The Salvation Army NZ

Imagine having to sit in the dark on a cold night, wrapped in a blanket for warmth because you couldn’t afford heating or power?

Sadly, this is a reality for many Kiwi families living in poverty at the moment, as they struggle through a cold winter without even the basics to survive. They are often forced to choose between providing food, warmth and shelter for their family, knowing the profound impact that going without even one of these things will have on their health and well-being.

Please support this ‘Lights On’ Winter Appeal and help keep families safe, warm and sheltered this winter.

Discover a new wine at New World

New World Timaru

"Kia ora – Angela Boulton from New World Timaru here. Keen to discover a new top drop in time for summer?

My favourite wine from this year’s New World Wine Awards is the Starborough Sauvignon Blanc. I have worked at New World for 18 years, and I’ve been Liquor Manager for 12 years. I’ve seen and tasted some incredible award-winning wines, and this year is by far my favourite. This Sauvignon Blanc is so fruity on the palate, with flavours of lime and feijoa. It’s a perfect match with cheese and fruit platters for the upcoming summer months.”

Come into your local New World and explore the Top 50 Gold-medal winning wines – we have winners for every budget. Plus join us for complimentary wine sampling and try before you buy.

Plan to turn Shotover Jet's V8 jet boats electric

Nicole Mathewson Reporter from Queenstown News

Ngāi Tahu Tourism has been awarded $200,000 toward a pilot project converting one of its petrol-powered twin-V8 engine jet boats to 100 per cent electric.

If the trial is successful, the company will consider introducing the technology to Shotover Jet and potentially its jet boat fleet in Queenstown, Glenorchy, Hollyford Valley and Taupō.
