Do you think cycleways will help make Queenstown's kids healthier?

Nicole Mathewson Reporter from Queenstown News

A $134 million investment in trails could lead to a reduction in the number of overweight children in Queenstown schools, a councillor and GP believes.

The Queenstown Lakes District Council unanimously approved plans for the trails, which include a $40m spend in the first five years on about 32 kilometres of commuter trails.

Councillor Val Miller said it was notable that there were no "fat children" in the area's schools when she started working as a GP in Queenstown in 1984.
