Death of past Franklin County News editor

Steve from Pukekohe

I know that a lot of people in the local area who have lived here a while will know of, or had dealings with, Rex Warwood. He was editor of the Franklin County News, subsidiary paper Country Life and owner of the Franklin Life Newspaper for many years, providing countless levels of communication to the area, and always seen at events far and wide with his camera and notepad prior to his retirement (well into his 70s).
In an effort to assist his family who no longer live in the area, and to honour my good friend, it is with great sadness that I convey that Rex passed away in North Shore Hospital due to Covid19 last night. As you hear the report of a death in todays daily bulletin, maybe just spare a thought that in this area at least, todays statistic is a person that many of us know and will miss. Stay safe.
