Porirua-based police will soon be moving into new premises situated at 19 Heriot Drive Porirua.
While the old Hagley Street station has served the community well since the 1960s, itโs time for a modern station which enables a better service to be delivered to our local community.
The new Porirua Police Hub offers a more pleasant experience and improved accessibility for members of the public. The modern design of the building presents a fit-for-purpose, healthy and collaborative working environment for our staff, and has the capacity to accommodate our growing numbers in the years to come.
Staff will move into the new hub over the weekend of Friday 4 โ Sunday 6 December 2020. The Porirua Police Hub will be operational from Monday 7 December 2020.
From next Saturday 5 December and Sunday 6 December while the station is relocated, the front counter (at the old station) will be closed to members of the public for walk-in reports until Monday morning (at the new station).
Please call 111 in an emergency or 105 to report something that has already happened.
Aside from the closure of the old station, there will be no noticeable change to local police service levels while the move takes place. Frontline staff will still be responding to emergency calls, conducting reassurance patrols and business as usual.
Ahead of the relocation, a blessing ceremony of the new site will take place next Thursday 3 December with Ngฤti Toa Rangatira Iwi and local police.
A formal opening of the Porirua Police Hub will be held early in the New Year. Media and the public will be advised of this event closer to the time.

Once you understand why you have this feeling, you can reframe it as creating a new environment that will support your present life while reminding you of your best experiences.
