My Nice Neighbour nomination
Our nice neighbour nomination goes to Jack Watson of Paraparaumu. Although Jack is not our neighbour, we have noted the following over the last few years: Jack who is in his late 80's and has had his own health ups and downs, gets on his pushbike and rides up to Eldon Lodge, in Valley Road, a few times a week to visit his old neighbour of many many years, Les Pilcher. Les recently turned 100 and we believe Jack has played a major part in getting Les to this milestone. Jack goes up and cuts Les's hair and does several other jobs for him. He takes him for walks in a wheelchair and is the most wonderful friend/mate anyone could ever wish for. We believe that this is probably just one of many great community spirited jobs Jack does. We look forward to his smile, positive attitude and chats when we are up there visiting our Dad every day. Jack raised 6 children and always has time for absolutely EVERYONE. Go Jack.
Lest we forget...
On this ANZAC Day, let's take a moment to remember and honor the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve our country.
Tell us who are you honouring today. Whether it's a story from the battlefield or a memory of a family member who fought in the war, we'd love you to share your stories below.
