Tell us about the coronavirus lockdown champions in your community

The Team Reporter from Stuff

Hey neighbours,

We want to celebrate the unsung heroes who are keeping our country going through lockdown.

Frontline nurse Debra Larsen's life has turned into a "real whirlwind" since the coronavirus outbreak began.

She's been so busy setting up testing centres around the Waikato. and helping them run smoothly that she's barely seen her two teenage daughters.

Do you know a coronavirus lockdown champion who deserves to be recognised? Tell us about them in the comments below.

Phils Folly

John from Warkworth

Anyone else staggered by Phil Goff's commitment to stick with a 3.5% rate rise?. It's like he has his head in the sand, hasn't been briefed on C19 global financial shock, or alternatively doesn't give a hoot about ratepayers and residents. Surely Phil understands the implications for ratepayers when treasury forecasts up to 30% unemployment as a consequence of C19 lockdown (s), and similarly appreciates that now is the time to back off some of those grand plans for auckland central that will no longer have tourists to use them, to defer support for an America's Cup that wont happen until 2022 and insist upon deferral of all other non essential projects plus implement a wage reduction across council of 20% (himself included). I encourage all ratepayers and workers to directly express concern to the mayor and his leadership team for this bizarre commitment to rates rises. The mayor can be contacted at following email address phil.goff@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz
