My Nice Neighbour nomination
I would like to nominate Fred in our neighbourhood. He keeps a watchful eye on all the surrounding properties and alerts us if there is anything untoward. Every week without fail he checks everyone's rubbish and ensures the bins are in order and takes out those who may've forgotten or unable to. Fred shows great care with neighbourhood animals and concern for the young children. Fred always offers a helping hand when needed and is willing to provide transport to appointments or the airport. Fred is retired but still likes to work part time when he is able to. We are all lucky to have Fred around, if he were successful with winning a prezzie card his wife Beryl should receive the second one as the old saying goes ' behind every great man is a great woman' and Beryl is just as giving.
Say goodbye to tyre waste
About 40% of the 6.5 million tyres Kiwis use every year are recycled, repurposed, or used as tyre-derived fuel. But the rest end up in landfills, stockpiled or dumped.
The good news is now there’s an easy solution to all that tyre waste. It’s called Tyrewise and is New Zealand’s first national tyre recycling scheme.
Tyrewise ensures that tyres in Aotearoa New Zealand are recycled or repurposed properly, saving millions from going to the landfill.
Find out more about the scheme online.
