Historic Kopu Bridge open gates

Carolyn from Thames

At Historic Kopu Bridge we have sent the final Tour Aotearoa cyclist happily on his way south to Bluff. The riders have been a joy to meet and at the same time it's fantastic how many Thames people and visitors have enjoyed spending time on our historic bridge. Unfortunately, one of our life saver rings was stolen on Thursday, making it difficult to ensure visitor safety and we have decided not to keep the gates open this coming week. If you have seen a ring like this one and can let us know where to find it, please let us know.

On this ANZAC Day, let's take a moment to remember and honor the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve our country.

Tell us who are you honouring today. Whether it's a story from the battlefield or a memory of a family member who fought in the war, we'd love you to share your stories below.
