Please keep an eye on your neighbours - particularly older ones. An hello over fence, phone call, email or text will do as we need to keep our distance. I encourage everybody to get out for a walk, bike ride or other activity that does not impact on others to keep your health, strength and emotions in good order. Try to have somebody in each street who can help or pass on problems where possible.
For my Whiteley Street area I am trying to do above and have already seen several people today. More localised action however is encouraged to spread the load. If anybody in Whiteley Street needs assistance or has a question do not hesitate to contact me on 027 6400 504.
Please be warned that I have noticed a number of scams appearing so please be careful with these and ignore or delete when any doubt. Crime also seems to be running at a fairly high level so please do not hesitate to use 111, 105 or 555 when appropriate.
For anybody that has not heard I believe rubbish collection in New Plymouth is now limited to refuse (red topped bin) but I do not know situation in other areas. I am also trying to find out whether Waste Management or any other private rubbish providers are still operating. If anybody can provide this information that would be great.
