Census support for the over 50s
SeniorNet New Plymouth through the Federation of NZ SeniorNet Societies has a short term partnership with Statistics NZ to assist people over the aged of 50 to complete their census forms.
To complete this partnership in New Plymouth we will be available at the Senior Citizens rooms at 27 -29 Liardet Street New Plymouth from
• from 10 am to 3 pm Saturday 3rd March to Tuesday 6th March
• from 10 am -12md on Wednesday 7th March
Anyone over the age of 50 can come in for assistance in completing their census forms.
Our volunteers can help people over the age of 50 to:-
• Assist people to complete their forms online using our laptops.
• Assist people to use their own laptops or hand held devices to complete the forms on line.
• Assist people to complete the paper if they have already obtained them
People must bring their household census number that they should have received in the mail and know the names and dates of birth of all persons who will be in the house on census night.
We will be using the Senior Citizens Rooms on the ground floor below our Learning Centre to ensure easy access for everybody.
There are 2 disability car parks outside the door.

Has anyone ever seen something like the image below in an older Kiwi home? Does anyone remember them from their childhood? These strange slots allowed you to rid yourself of an old razor and never think of it again...but it also meant, years down the track, that someone renovating would be in for a nasty, rusty surprise.
I'm certain I've seen something like this here in Aotearoa-NZ, but can't for the life of me recall where. It was in the back of the medicine cupboard. Let us know if you've seen, had - or have - one in your home.
