From Monday 9 December to Sunday 15 December, it’s ‘Shop Local Week’, where we’re asking readers to rally behind their local businesses. They’re the heart of communities, and as we’re heading into Christmas, it’s the perfect time to do a spot of shopping!
We’ve partnered with 2degrees, which is offering a $20,000 media spend package for a business in the Top of the South to put towards promoting themselves. Nominate your favourite local retailer or let them know they can nominate themselves through this link.
Let’s support our communities and get behind our awesome local businesses!
Did you know that Nelson's Roller rink is run entirely by volunteers? Yup. Countless people give their time and hearts to this place so that the public can continue to enjoy it as well as those playing sport there. Please take a minute to vote here so that Resene can donate some much needed paint to spruce the place up and keep it nice for our community. Many thanks :-)

There were several vehicle break-ins in Marybank/Atawhai overnight Monday/Tuesday (9/10th December). Stolen from Wastney Terrace was a very distinctive "Hoodlam/Sea Shepherd" jacket made especially for Sea Shepherd crew members. It is probably the only one on the South Island and also has a sentimental value. I attach the following photos. If seen being worn please contact the Police or if found telephone 5451103. Thanks.
