Thanks to our wonderful neighbour Don Lancaster, I'm unsure how I/we would have coped. I had major ankle surgery in July, and I'm also the solo caregiver for my very elderly, almost blind Mother. Came home from hospital non weight bearing for 6 weeks, and with NO help from the DHB. Don, made and put down ramps over the steps for me, so that I could get across to the freezer, plus a ramp at our front door. He takes me shopping whenever I need to, fed our hens, puts out our rubbish and recycling.Plus, much, much more! He pops over at least twice a day. My Mother and I will be forever thankful to our wonderful neighbour, who sure does go the extra mile!
We've been hearing reports of fruit trees being stripped across Hawke's Bay on residential properties, orchards and school grounds. Have you been affected by this? Please comment below.
