Will Lake Whakamaru Reserve's closure impact you?

Hi neighbours,
A popular South Waikato camping spot may remain closed for the summer holidays so it can rejuvenate after extensive tree harvesting .
Lake Whakamaru Reserve was closed during the last summer holidays, much to the disappointment of many holiday makers, while large 60 to 80-year-old pine trees were felled for health and safety reasons.
While the council promised it would be open in time for this summer, that may no longer be the case according to South Waikato District Council parks and reserves manager Phil Parker.
