Happy 25th birthday to Donald the duck!
Birthday celebrations are in order, as a Northland duck - aptly named Donald - turned 25 years old on Saturday. Donald's owner, Shane O'Leary, believes Donald could be the oldest duck in the world.
Pekin and Indian runner crossbreed Donald was rescued as a ducking from a flood on December 7, 1994, in Hukerenui. A duck's average life expectancy ranges from five to 12 years, however Donald is showing no signs of slowing down. His favourite activities are swimming and diving in his pond.
