Do you know how the proposed rates changes will impact you?
Farmers have been shocked to find the Far North District Council's proposed 'Fairer and Simpler Rates' system will see their rates increase by as much as $10,000 or 30 per cent in a year. A raft of changes to the way rates are calculated have been put forward by the council, with mayor John Carter saying some ratepayers will pay more while others will pay less. Do you know how the changes could impact you? Do you support the changes?
Say goodbye to tyre waste
About 40% of the 6.5 million tyres Kiwis use every year are recycled, repurposed, or used as tyre-derived fuel. But the rest end up in landfills, stockpiled or dumped.
The good news is now there’s an easy solution to all that tyre waste. It’s called Tyrewise and is New Zealand’s first national tyre recycling scheme.
Tyrewise ensures that tyres in Aotearoa New Zealand are recycled or repurposed properly, saving millions from going to the landfill.
