How warm will your home be this winter?

Door Man from Waimak Window & Door Repairs

Keeping cosy depends on a variety of factors and every little bit helps.

Windows are a major source of heat loss. Decent drapes and curtains are worth their weight in gold.

Also, check the seals around your windows, as rubber shrinks and leaves noticeable gaps.

How about the top of the windows? Over time the friction stays wear out meaning the window no longer sits snug in the frame letting out valuable heat and cold air in.

Fortunately it's a minor job to replace both the stays and the seals to help fortify your home's armour.

Say goodbye to tyre waste

Tyrewise

About 40% of the 6.5 million tyres Kiwis use every year are recycled, repurposed, or used as tyre-derived fuel. But the rest end up in landfills, stockpiled or dumped.

The good news is now there’s an easy solution to all that tyre waste. It’s called Tyrewise and is New Zealand’s first national tyre recycling scheme.

Tyrewise ensures that tyres in Aotearoa New Zealand are recycled or repurposed properly, saving millions from going to the landfill.

Find out more about the scheme online.
