Help on way for legally-blind Nelson man as honesty box thefts continue.

Tim O'Connell Reporter from The Nelson Mail

Just days after Dan Younghusband had his lemon stand honesty box broken into and destroyed, thieves targeted it for a fifth time on Monday.
But he has also been overwhelmed by offers of support, including a project to build him a more secure stand.

What design aspects does a roadside fruit stall require these days? Would you spare some lemons to Dan's cause if you knew the stall was theft-proof?

Where's your closest neighbourhood book exchange booth?

Carly Gooch Reporter from The Nelson Leader

Book booths are all over the Nelson region, including one in Monaco, Nayland and a new one in Kaiteriteri Reserve. Do you use one or have you seen one? Tell us about your local book exchange - we'd love to write a story about where they are in the region and who uses them.

The team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Police are reminding people to be prepared and notify others of their plans ahead of Labour Weekend.

If you are planning to take to mountain and bush tracks, ensure you have suitable equipment and enough supplies; maps, a compass, personal locator beacon and a cellphone; and always leave detailed trip intentions with a contact person.

See sample Outdoor Intentions Form here.
