The Great British Mortgage Swindle

Geoff from Russell

More good news from the UK www.thebernician.net... I wonder if Rob Stock would have the courage, or could get permission, to write a piece about The Great British Mortgage Swindle and how it relates to New Zealand

THANKS - I hope the kind man sees this

Dot from Central Whangarei

Today at Yummy Sushi, Okara, Whangarei.

Thanks to the kind young man that paid for the lunch my granddaughter and I selected. We were surprised and delighted. Still smiling!
I wish you good karma and I will pay your kindness forward.
After the cashier told a surprised me that my card had declined I stood aside to check my bank balance online. Next the cashier called out that the man had paid for our selection. I rushed out to see him drive off in a blue station wagon.
Money in account - I had actually keyed in an incorrect PIN number.
Some weeks ago a lady in front of me at the supermarket checkout was trying to decide what to put back as she didn’t have enough money to cover her shop. I paid her $5 shortfall.
I believe in Karma and that what goes around comes around. This was mine.
I will continue to keep it going!

Should prisoners be allowed to vote in the council elections?

The team Reporter from Whangarei Leader

Hi neighbours - prisoners have expressed that they want to be able to vote in both the general election and local body elections.

They say it would help them feel human and connected to the community, with former prisoner Awatea Mita saying the voting ban is "humiliating and dehumanising".

What do you think? Should prisoners be allowed to vote in the council elections? Read more here
