Hamilton cops reassure keyboard worriers over Facebook crime fears

The Team Reporter from Hamilton Press

North Hamilton residents have been talking about a crime wave, but police say there hasn't been a spike in reported incidents.
Despite that, police are sending in cops to help reassure residents.
Community Facebook pages for Rototuna and Flagstaff have been rife with posts about stolen cars, smashed windows, and burglaries.
One post proposed a vigilante group.

They say the northern area was not being targeted and, compared to other suburbs, Flagstaff and Rototuna do not have a problem with this type of crime.

Did you submit on the city council's long-term plan?

The Team Reporter from Hamilton Press

Hamiltonians have spoken out on the council’s budget plans with the city’s massive proposed rates hike a lightning rod for residents already struggling with rising costs.

With more than 3000 submissions landing on the Hamilton City Council’s Draft Long Term Plan the hot topic is unsurprisingly the proposed 19.9% rise, which itself lands in a cost of living crisis and limping economy.
