FREEDOM FROM DIETS. Raglan. A healthy weight can be achieved & maintained without dieting, calorie counting or weighing & measuring food. In this workshop, we will discuss why diets don't work for most people and what Science says is the healthiest food plan for most humans. We will tease apart the diet related facts from the diet related myths & propaganda.
Come along and learn the classic reasons why people become over weight and specific skills and strategies that can help bring weight back under control. We will also look at exercise; why it is important for good health, but why it is not very helpful for weight loss.
Dr. Heidi Douglass is a registered Clinical Psychologist with 35 years of experience in the field of Psychology. She is also certified in Plant Based Nutrition by the T. Colin Campbell Institute of Cornell University. Dr. Heidi established, and is the lead trainer of, the Mindful Eating Program for "Mindfulness Works"; the largest provider of mindfulness training courses in Australasia. The treatment of over eating & obesity is one of her primary specialties.
A plant based tea time is included in the workshop.
