Comfrey roots x5

Loges from Tamahere

Probably the Russian variety with pale violet flowers.
Comfrey is a must have in any garden. Easy to grow and a great source of natural fertiliser. Just 'chop and drop' around the garden. Or steep the leaves in water in a covered container - as it will smell- for a few weeks. Then use the resulting liquid as liquid fertiliser - diluted till the mixture looks like weak tea.
They are great planted around fruit trees, about a metre from the trunk. They will slowly spread over the years so best planted away from the vege garden.

5 pieces of root and/or crowns, about 10 cm long each.
Pick up on Newell Road, Tamahere, Hamilton.

Price: $5

Anti-Covid border between Raglan and Hamilton 'should be investigated' - mayor

Jack from Melville

"Hamilton mayor Paula Southgate says she wants to investigate the feasibility of setting up border controls between the city and Raglan, an ongoing Covid hotspot."
Good one. Why should we lose freedoms due to science deniers refusing vaccines and offering YouTubes as "research"?

NZ Post Couriers

Alan from Glenview

NZ Post Couriers would have to be the worst courier company for service in NZ. On Saturday we had a parcel which had been sent per NZ Post Couriers delivered to our letter box, not by NZ Post but by a person who had found it on the road a kilometre away! With it a note: Courier dropped on road, Homestead Place. I have tried to contact NZ Post Couriers per phone to no avail. I rang the 0800 number and was directed to a series of numbers, but nothing for complaints. I then tried their website and found a section for feedback. They said that they would not answer feedback but I decided to write something anyway but the comment box only allowed me to enter one line. Obviously they don't want complaints. I will in future not deal with NZ companies who intend to send my goods per NZ Post Couriers. Meanwhile, many thanks to the kind and honest person in Homestead Place who took the trouble to deliver the parcel.
