WATCH: Rotterdam's floating cows: the future of farming?

The Team from Play Stuff

Hi Neighbours, could you imagine cows floating down the Waikato River?

These cows are floating on Europe's largest port, in another effort to make cattle farming more sustainable. The owners call it the world's first 'floating farm'. It's in Rotterdam and they want it to minimize waste and land use, and also bring food production closer to the city.

Our beloved Municipal Pools

Dianne from Hamilton East

Today, I happened to glance at a copy of Waikato Times and lo and behold, most of the front page was dedicated to council declaring what a wonderful vista it will be when the 'derelict' municipal pools are demolished. I was astounded. I am almost certain that supporters of the revitalisation of the pools have never been given the same space and privilege of being on the Front Page. Where is the fair play here? The impartiality ? These pools have been with us for over 100 years, and are one, if not the only concrete outside pool, of its type in New Zealand. They have been the making of many memories for thousands of Hamiltonians and others over the years and yet The Waikato Times and other media sources have chosen to give very little support to the pools. Please people email council, even now at the 11th hour, your voice, our voices could make the difference!

re: regular visitor

Sally from Nawton

Hello everyone,
I put up a notice of a cat that comes around to my place and enquring the owner. I have to complaint about it visiting and it has become a daily routine now for this cat/kitten.
I am very sure he is someone kitten /cat. Just wondering why he is coming over very day usually in the evening. He will be standing outside the sliding door of of dinning room which attracted my cats.
He will eat the biscuits which I gave him. I am sure his owner had feed him unless not in the evening.
May I know who the owner please? I dont want to adopt him as I have 2 cats which are both indoor cats.

Regards
Sally
