The responsibility of every pet owner is to keep their charges safe, out of harms way.
If a person chooses to have a pet, safe guard it.
Spay or neuter the pet. Care for it, love it and contain it appropriately.
Law changes aren't needed, common sense is.
New rapid reaction armed police teams will form in three districts, including Waikato, after the Christchurch terror attacks prompted a review of firearms emergencies.

Non-urgent patients are asked not to show up at Hamilton's emergency department unless they have a health emergency.
Waikato Hospital is so full that some non-urgent surgery is being postponed. People who are unwell but don't need to go to ED can visit their GP, local urgent care centre, or call Healthline 0800 611 116.
Those who need immediate or urgent help should dial 111, or go straight to the Waikato Hospital Emergency Department.
