Hamilton residents urged to stay vigilant after spate of break-ins

Hamilton residents are being urged to stay vigilant and report suspicious activity around community sites after vandalism, break-ins and thefts.

Four separate sites have been targeted over the last two months, including a public toilet block in Swarbrick Park which had only just been refurbished after a suspicious fire.

Councillor's faux park in disability spot

Hamilton City councillor Siggi Henry has come under fire for parking badly in a disabled parking spot at Hamilton Gardens.
Henry has since apologised and said she had "no excuse".
She hates being late and had been rushing to a citizenship ceremony, she said.
Henry is standing again in this council election, in the west ward.

Soft plastic recycling bins are back

Hi neighbours, soft plastic recycling bins are coming back.

The Love NZ Soft Plastic Recycling Scheme, which was suspended in 2018, has returned to Auckland and Hamilton and, as of October, will be back in Wellington too.

It can get confusing trying to keep track of what to recycle, what not to recycle, and what's just rubbish.
