Staying safe while surfing the net this summer!

The Team from New Zealand Police

With the school holidays approaching parents are encouraged to have a think about what information they share online. Scammers may target parents, offering free tickets to family related activities, in order to gain private information.

Please remember:
- If it seems too good to be true, it very well may be
- If in doubt, don’t do it
- If they have asked for information in regards to your children, do not give this out
- If they request photos of your family, do not give them out
- If you are uneasy about anything they have asked, contact the site admin, block the person from your profile or phone, and advise police

Further information on online safety is available through www.netsafe.org.nz...

Anyone who believes they have been a victim of a crime, in person or online, should report the matter to their local Police.
