Report all suspicious activity
Hey neighbours - hope you all had a safe and Merry Xmas and quiet New Year. Well things have been quite busy lately with a few serious crimes happening in Invercargill. I have noticed a few burglaries and thefts being reported and wanted to let you know areas that have been targeted by thieves. We also had some good arrests of local burglars that stemmed from members of the public reporting suspicious behaviour - so that had a great outcome, well done. Those burglars are on nightly curfews and being checked by Police regularly. Recent activity shows we have had some pixies out and about helping themselves to property: 07-09/01 a shed at Otatara was broken into and bike stolen, )9/01 a lawnmower was stolen from a porch in Appleby, overnight on 11/01 two dirt bikes were stolen from a vehicle on Janet Street - this was parked up the driveway, and a chainsaw stolen from an address in Lochiel Branxholme Rd. racecourse Rd was targeted overnight 11-12/01 with a car broken into and cash stolen from the centre console and a garage entered with a helmet and tools being stolen. There was also an attempt to steal a car in Forth Street 12/01. If you have any information regarding the offenders or property give us a call. You can also pass on information on Crime stoppers on 0800 555 111. Lock all your property away and keep valuable items out of sight. Keep an eye on each other. Report suspicious activity on 111 at the time. Stay safe.
