Great news for all digital upskillers: you can gain computer skills for work, study and everyday life - for free and at your own pace - at Ara Connect!
We’ve got courses in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and a Certificate in Computing, plus you can learn how to touch-type, use the internet, create a website and lots more.
There are Ara Connect locations throughout Christchurch and in Rangiora, Timaru and Oamaru. We’re open Monday to Friday, and some locations are open Saturdays and weekends too, so you can fit your studies around work, family and other commitments.

The JP service is still at the old Hornby Community Centre building
Even though the Hornby Library is moving, the JP service is still being held at the old Community Centre building
- Monday & Thursday from 9:30-12:30
- 8 Goulding Avenue – 03 349 5236
Citizens Advice Bureau and all the other community groups are also still based there as well.

What a great result as another drop puts it into the 2600 zone, the best since Feb 2022
It could be a wee bit concerning that Cant seems slower to drop 16.6% as we were only 15% a couple of months ago.
