Northland District Health Board was mocked on social media for a post about using essential oils to deter mice, but a natural therapies expert says there is some truth to the claim. What do you think - have you ever tried essential oils to deter rodents and is this something the health board should be commenting on?
Kia ora Northland, it's time to dust off that old camera, get out and about and show the rest of your neighbours your favourite, treasured spots in your region. It could be an awesome view, the shy wildlife or even the old buildings that are wanting their stories to be told.
Go ahead, get snapping and illustrate what's beyond your backyard.

It was a sad loss to kaikohe that Wiremu Reihana, our great dentist, moved to Whangarei's Tikipunga.
Now we have to travel to kerikeri, Kaitaia, or as far as Whangarei.
My son's recent trip to a dentist in Kerikeri left him traumatised for being chastised about being 1 minute late, and then instead of a small filling , all he got was an X-ray and a quote of over $6000 for work totally unrequired . When the dentist says "open wider" , does he or she mean your wallet or your mouth ?
Needless to say that dental practice in Kerikeri will be avoided in future.
And if they're not forthcoming with the X ray , they'll be named.
