Runner attempting 100km in gumboots to fundraise for stricken farmers

Nicole Mathewson Reporter from Northern Outlook

George Black knows he won’t save the world’s problems by running 100 kilometres in gumboots, but he at least hopes to ease some for Canterbury farmers.

The 24-year-old will this week run from North Canterbury to Christchurch – in size 8 Red Band gumboots – in the hopes of at least raising $10,000 for farmers going through tough times.

On Thursday, the real estate agent will run from The Peaks in Hawarden, to Amberley, across to Rangiora, and then from there to Hagley Park.

Good luck George!
