Man who allegedly torched Amberley tyre pile named
Garry Grimmer, 63, from Amberley, lost name suppression when he appeared in the Christchurch District Court on Wednesday.
Police allege he set fire to a large pile of old tyres at a yard on Racecourse Rd, in Amberley, on January 29.
ECan intended to have the tyres moved to a chipping facility, and the tyre chips would then have been transported to a cement company.
Grimmer was remanded on bail to appear again on June 9.
