Could you imagine living here?

Jo Haywood Reporter from Homed

Hey neighbours, have you seen this incredible log home in Tarras? Talk about taking rustic design to a whole new level...

Fitting in beautifully into the remote Otago landscape, it was built by High Country Carpentry at a cost in excess of $2 million and has just won three regional Master Builders awards - for its interior, exterior and craftsmanship. Take a look inside and it's not hard to see why.

Praising the skill and workmanship that went into the home, the judges said: "The rustic and organic nature and imagery of the house is deceiving, as the technology, engineering and construction detail that went into the construction is incredibly innovative."

You can see more of this home, and what went into its construction, here.

Say goodbye to tyre waste

Tyrewise

About 40% of the 6.5 million tyres Kiwis use every year are recycled, repurposed, or used as tyre-derived fuel. But the rest end up in landfills, stockpiled or dumped.

The good news is now there’s an easy solution to all that tyre waste. It’s called Tyrewise and is New Zealand’s first national tyre recycling scheme.

Tyrewise ensures that tyres in Aotearoa New Zealand are recycled or repurposed properly, saving millions from going to the landfill.

Find out more about the scheme online.
