credit card charge not recognized

Rhonda from Hastings Central

Hi there,
UPDATED FROM THIS MORNINGS POST - SO SOME COMMENTS MIGHT NOT MAKE SENCE.
BEWARE IF YOU ARE ORDERING FREE SAMPLES FROM KETOBLISS and they want you to pay the $5 for postage.
OR IF YOU HAVE THIS APPEAR ON YOUR VISA CARD CLEAR SELF NOW +64800005501

I looked at ordering a free sample of tablets called KETOBLISS and it came with a pay postage. To be honest, I thought I had not completed the transaction and was really surprised when they arrived. Over the weekend I noticed $150 from CLEAR SELF NOW and phoned the bank. Wasn't sure what it was for. After numerous calls the bank and trying to phone the number above, it turns out that this company is known for free samples and somewhere in the fine print they say if you don't cancel within 20 days they will charge you $150 per month! Turns out two payments have gone through so $300 in total.
To start with I wasn't sure even what I had purchased. The banks told me I had to find the company and talk to them. But being I didn't know to start with what I had purchased and then later, didn't know where to find them (no letter had come with the tablets) - anyway, I should have taken more care when ordering and paying for the postage. (although as I said I thought I hadn't completed the transaction).
I worked out the number on the bill was a phone number so rang them.
I phoned the number twice, the first lady said they were customer care for 400 products/companies and she said she couldn't tell me who they were or what they sell. I asked specifically do they sell KETOBLISS tablets and she said NO.
I phoned back again, and got someone else and this time said why I was phoning and she said yes I was a customer and yes they do sell those tablets (well that they are the customer care for them) I explained I had not opened the tablets and if she supplies me with and address I will track and trace them to be returned. And I wanted my money back.
She explained that I agreed to the $150 per month.
I said I wanted proof of that and she could email me the proof.
She said that they could return 33% of my bill.
I got cross and said that I was going to contact the police for fraud.
Then she said she would return 75% of my money.
I then replied with the bank was looking into stopping all payment to them from NZ accounts, and I was going public. (Bark possibly worse than Bite!)
She then put me on hold and came back with she would return all of the money.
She didn't give me an address to return the tablets.
So GOOD NEWS MONEY WILL HOPEFULLY BE RETURNED AND no more free samples for me on line!

My original post was asking if anyone knew who the bill on the VISA was from as we didn't recognize it. So thanks to everyone for your messages and texts.
Anyone else in the same boat - ?
I had already stopped my credit card and ordered a new one.
Cheers.

For people outside of my neighbourhood, my phone number for texts is 0278299984 if you have any info, I would be thankful.

Thanks, Everyone.
Kind regards
Rhonda

Fibre sales people

Rosie from Parkvale

At 8pm last night (Sunday) when it was almost dark, I had a knock at my back door from another fibre salesman. I was taken aback at the timing but I was told I needed to sign up as the house in front of me had signed up and they (not sure who they are) needed to install it in my house at the same time.
I am totally sick and tired of phone calls, mail, e-mail and door knocks re fibre. I cannot see the purpose of it in my case as only use broadband for e-mails and news feed and use well less than 20 gig a month and mostly use the internet via my cell phone. We still use the landline a lot.

Apparently I will not be able to sell my house in the future if it doesn't have fibre and I will be the only one in the street without it. And the Govt is going to make me have it within 3 years whether I like it or not. I feel pressured (bullied) over fibre and don't see why I should be made to have something that I don't want. So far the best offer I have had if I agree to it is that my monthly phone bills will reduce by $5. In some quotes it will go up.
I have decided not to have it at this stage and I just wish that my decision would be respected and that all the fibre sales people would leave me alone. Is there anywhere that I can register that I want to be fibre-free and that I won't harassed any more over this issue?

A fictional look!

Collin from Hospital Hill

Don't you just love it how one word is changed to push for our acquiescence - take the excerpt below which promotes this goal!
Who decided we needed this goal and what benefit is the goal to us, the plebs?
"engage" is used when "control" is meant but of course one should never, ever question this aspect.
A non kiwi is quoted telling us we need to lift our game and embrace this highly questionable 5G - to suit whom?
IoT is 100% about total control which is cleverly disguised as being beneficial but ask yourself: do you really need to turn your bathroom heater on ( if your Electric supplier will let you ) 10 minutes before u arrive at your door.
Keep in mind that if we all go the solar panel way, then a day of high overcast will mean sweet all electricity, but you can bet the official turning "all heaters to off" will still have their abode fully powered.
