Christchurch liquor store robbed at knife-point
A man wielding a knife did not bother to try hide his face when he allegedly tried to rob a central Christchurch liquor store.
The robbery happened at the Henry's store on Moorehouse Ave about 8.45pm on Thursday.
Police said the man presented a knife, but left empty-handed.
He was last seen heading west towards Colombo St.
A police spokesman said no customers were in the store when the robbery happened, and the shop worker did not report any injuries.
The man was described as being 172 centimetres tall, of medium build, and wearing a dark grey hoodie, blue jeans and tan coloured shoes.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call police on 105 and quote file number 191004/9551.
Information can also be provided anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Say goodbye to tyre waste
About 40% of the 6.5 million tyres Kiwis use every year are recycled, repurposed, or used as tyre-derived fuel. But the rest end up in landfills, stockpiled or dumped.
The good news is now there’s an easy solution to all that tyre waste. It’s called Tyrewise and is New Zealand’s first national tyre recycling scheme.
Tyrewise ensures that tyres in Aotearoa New Zealand are recycled or repurposed properly, saving millions from going to the landfill.
