Poll: What should the city council do about Christchurch's new stadium budget blow-out?

Nicole Mathewson Reporter from The Press

From reporter Steven Walton:
Christchurch’s 30,000-seat stadium, Te Kaha, has blown its budget by at least another $50 million, Stuff understands.

City councillors will soon have to decide whether they either increase the $533m budget once again, head back to the drawing board or pause the project.

Council staff are refusing to comment on the spiralling costs, saying more information will be available in the coming weeks.

But the council has advised the Treasury of issues with the budget, a spokesperson for the Government department said. Read more here.

Help our elderly

Alistair from Sydenham

What we are looking for are any tvs and or little radios we can give to rest homes

We have found 90% of the rest homes are in lockdown due to covid being found in them

This means that the residents are confined to their rooms this is rather unfortunate as many do not have tv or radio in their rooms

So we are seeking any tvs and or radios and ariels we can drop off to the rest homes
Its bad enough being in isolation as many of us know but doubly hard for them as they cant have families visit either and then stuck in their room staring out the windows would be torture so am hoping some members may be able to help no bigger than 50inch due to space constraints in many rooms
