Spark scam

Yuki from Upper Moutere

www.spark.co.nz/scamalerts
We experienced this scam. The phone call started with automated message to say that our landline and internet would be disconnected within 24 hours and prompted to press 1 for more details (there was no other options), then the guy called himself as "David Watson", a Spark technician, tried to let us to download an app called "Team Viewer". This is a remote desktop controller and your computer will be accessible via internet from outside once it is installed. My husband asked "David" his office phone number to call back for our reference, then "David" hung up on him. There is a Linkedin account of Spark employee "David Watson", with no photo and no contact details and the guy told us about the account to let us trust him. This is very elaborated deception, be careful.

Say goodbye to tyre waste

Tyrewise

About 40% of the 6.5 million tyres Kiwis use every year are recycled, repurposed, or used as tyre-derived fuel. But the rest end up in landfills, stockpiled or dumped.

The good news is now there’s an easy solution to all that tyre waste. It’s called Tyrewise and is New Zealand’s first national tyre recycling scheme.

Tyrewise ensures that tyres in Aotearoa New Zealand are recycled or repurposed properly, saving millions from going to the landfill.

Find out more about the scheme online.
