Now that summer's finally here and the holidays are just around the corner for many, we'd love to hear about your favourite summer holiday memories. Has there been a trip that you continue to think about years later? Where did you go, with who and what did you get up to? What made it such a stand-out experience? As usual, please put 'NFP' in your comment if you don't want it included in a travel article. Cheers.
A van belonging to freedom campers caught fire at a Marlborough camp site on Monday.
A fire investigator suggested that freedom campers should install fire alarms in their vans.
Do you think rental companies should routinely install alarms in vans?
Would you install, or have you installed, a smoke alarm in your camper?
Earlier in the week, the Mountain Bike Park and all of the Wither Hills Farm Park, except for the lower tracks, were closed due to a high fire risk.
The fire danger has now reached the ‘Extreme’ level, and residents are being urged not to enter the closed areas and use only the Lower Farm Track, Mapp Track, the town boundary or Taylor River Reserve tracks.
Will you adhere to the advice, or will you disregard closure signs and walk the hills anyway?
Do you think the closures are unnecessary?
What alternative walks will you take?
(Please write NFP (not for publication) if you don't want your comments used.)

KINPACK fertiliser is produced from sheep daggings and machine blended, resulting in a consistent powdered natural fertiliser. Nothing is added during the crushing or bagging process.
KINPACK powdered sheep manure retains a small portion of wool fibre. This has been retained on purpose as it is a great plant food as well as retaining moisture for a long time.
