Would first hour free parking bring more people into Blenheim's CBD?

Hi neighbours - First hour free parking is to be explored in Blenheim.

The Marlborough District Council agreed on Thursday to look at the free parking concept, similar to what was introduced in Nelson in 2014, as a way of bringing more people into the central business district.

Do you think first hour free parking would bring more people into Blenheim's CBD? Would it make you want to come in?

The Marlborough District Council plans to trial a Saturday bus between Picton and Blenheim, in response to feedback from Picton residents wanting to visit the new Blenheim library. It would leave Waikawa Bay at 9am and 1pm, and Blenheim's Seymour St at 10.10am and 2pm.
