Last chance to help fill hungry tummies this winter!

Julia de Ruiter from The Salvation Army NZ

There's only a few days left to donate to the Countdown Food Rescue Winter Appeal! So far 430 winter bundles have been donated to The Foodbank Project and we'd love to see that number increase to 500!

With chilly days and nights, winter is a really tough time for some of our most vulnerable New Zealanders. Through these colder months, The Salvation Army sees a consistently high demand for food assistance which stretches supplies and resources in their foodbanks across the country.

You can help by donating a Winter Bundle today! www.foodbank.org.nz...

Fresh garden vegetables needed for 24 y.o. post-op cancer patient

James from Remuera

Dear Neighbours, I am looking for fresh (preferably organic) vegetables for a 24 y.o. Sikh immigrant lad in Papatoetoe who was recently diagnosed with a brain tumour. He is now post-op and needs excellent nutrition of the kind that only uber-fresh vegetables can provide. If you have any surplus in your gardens right now (carrots, spinach, silver beet, broccoli/cabbage/cauliflower, lettuce etc) you'd be doing this kid a massive favour. If you know of any keen vegetable gardeners please spread the news. I can collect from you and deliver to him. Please call or txt to my mobile 021 277 45 77 if you can help. Many thanks in advance, Jim.
