Celebrate Waitangi Day ... Picnic in a Park
Looking for something to do this beautiful Waitangi Day? Why not enjoy a relaxing picnic in the park with family and friends in one of Auckland's many green spaces? There's nothing like a cool shady spot on a hot day. Auckland Tourism has a great summary of parks in the Auckland region ... www.aucklandnz.com...
Make use of one of the BBQs provided or take your own*. Saint Johns Butchery has all your BBQ treats, already prepared and ready to go. Alternatively, try our South Island salmon, smoked in store and flavoured with lemon pepper. Fish from a butcher? Of course! This delicious ready-to-eat treat is perfect for lunch or dinner.
We're open between 10.00am - 5.00pm today, so you have plenty of time to pop in store for your picnic supplies :-)
* Things to note about using your own BBQ in Auckland parks...
...You cannot take coal or wood burning barbecues into parks, reserves or beaches.
...You can take your own gas barbecue into parks and reserves, but you must not use it near or under trees.
...All open flamed barbecues should be elevated at least 30cm off the ground.
