BBQ heist at Mitre 10 Mega Flat Bush

Caroline Williams Reporter from Eastern Courier

Fifty brand new barbeques were stolen from Mitre 10 Mega in Flat Bush on Monday night.
Police believe the thieves may have used a truck, making multiple visits to the hardware store.
Police are asking the public to be vigilant of Weber and Everdure BBQs being offered for cheap or at discounted prices, particularly on platforms such as Facebook marketplace.
Counties Manukau East area prevention manager Inspector Chris Barry said it was disappointing businesses were being targeted at a time when many were struggling due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Anyone with information on the stolen BBQs should phone the Counties Manukau Tactical Crime Unit on 105, quoting file number 200505/8672.

Free Furoshiki workshop 13yr+

Michelle from Highland Park

Join us at Highland Park Library Saturday 4 May to make Furoshiki - a traditional Japanese wrapping cloth that is used to carry and transport items. It can be folded and tied in different ways to create a reusable and eco-friendly alternative to disposable bags. Furoshiki can be used to wrap gifts, groceries, and other items, and its versatility makes it a popular choice for those looking to reduce waste and be more environmentally conscious.
