Remuera local who founded successful NZ shoe brand dies
Hi neighbours, the founder of popular Kiwi shoe brand Andrea Biani - and East and Bays local - Sebastiano Perillo has died. Perillo, also known as John, came to NZ from Italy as a refugee in 1951. He spent several decades in the footwear industry and built his family home in Remuera before moving to Parnell. His son David says Perillo will be sorely missed: "He was kind of the last patriarch of the family".
