Baby Pied Shag from the Panmure Basin with fish hook injury

Corina Hooper from Pam Howlett's Cormorant Sanctuary

I had to catch a baby pied shag from the colony in the Panmure Basin due to a fish hook stuck in its leg. I took the bird to Dr Bryan Gartrell on Friday  morning and he removed the hook. It is back at the sanctuary on antibiotics and pain relief. At this stage we don't know if it will ever be able to use its leg again. We need to stop fishing in the Panmure Basin!
