Vehicle Break Ins

Sergeant Smith from Newmarket Community Policing Team

Dear Neighbours

Over the long weekend we had a number of vehicle break ins and thefts from vehicles from the Newmarket and Remuera Areas. This follows on from the previous week where Epsom and One Tree Hill was targeted.

Enquiries are on going and police tracked possible suspects back to a Motel in Epsom.

The offenders were using a stolen gold 2005 Subaru Forester Station wagon, however this vehicle has since been recovered from the motel.

We believe the suspects left the motel in a white 2005 Holden Rodeo 4x2 Ute. (not actual vehicle pictured)

The main offender is described as Male/Maori, 25-35 Years old, 6 foot tall, Solid Build and short dark hair. The passenger was described as Male/Maori, 18 - 22 years old, and shorter and chubbier than the other male.

If you see anyone hanging around your vehicle or looking into it don't be afraid to call 111. It was from one member of the public calling the police about someone hanging around her vehicle that has enabled police to return a victims stolen vehicle and now have further lines of enquiry to locate the males braking into other vehicles.

Stay Safe

Does Auckland have too many fast food outlets?

Mandy Te Reporter from East & Bays Courier

Hi neighbours, Taco Bell is set to open its first NZ store in the "not too distant future". Krispy Kreme recently opened in Auckland and some people queued for 36 hours to get doughnuts. What do you think? How do you feel about getting Taco Bell? Are you excited? Do you think Auckland has enough fast food options for people?

Are you aware of the bus driver strikes?

Georgia Reporter from Stuff

Hi Auckland,
Have you organised other transport amid strikes this week? Some AT metro bus services will be cancelled from April 17 until April 27. So make sure you have a ride sorted! Will you be affected by the strikes?
