Vote West Auckland
Hello fellow westerners,
The local elections are coming, and no, I am not a candidate. However, I am writing to ask you all to put aside a few minutes of your time to know more about the candidates and ultimately to vote.
Why should we bother? Why should people vote?
Your community is invisible if you do not vote. The reason is simple: Politicians need voters to vote for them, so they actually pay attention to what voters want.
On the other hand, if you are a nonvoter, then your community needs will not be valued as much. Your voice won’t be heard. In this way, your vote is a currency.
Don’t forget that elections have consequences. If only people who don’t think as you vote, then your opinions and what is essential for you will be drowned out by ballot box results. Don’t let it happen. Vote.
West Auckland is a beautiful, diverse and exciting community. We can make it better and safer if we decide to participate more and control how our taxes are being used.
Everyone needs to have their say when it comes to electing those who will be responsible for making decisions for Tāmaki Makaurau.
For more information on each of the candidates, please visit: www.aucklandcouncil.govt.nz...
If you are not sure how to vote or finding something hard to understand, please contact me.
I am happy to help.
