Has anyone noticed just how loud the Police Eagle chopper has become? We seem to be woken at all hours of the night in Central Auckland. I’m constantly expecting a perpetrator to leap our fence at any time! Totally understand the police have a critical job to perform. Just wondering if there is any way to mitigate the sleep disruption? Earplugs? Drones? Interested to know if this is affecting you?
Who loves Hot Cross Buns? Nothing beats the smell of a freshly toasted hot cross bun, but as Easter this year will be spent in coronavirus lockdown and your favourite bakery or cafe is closed, we've put together a list of some of the best spices buns you can find or if you're feeling adventurous why not make them.
My personal favourites are from Daily Bread. What's your favourite thing about Easter?
Since the beginning of the nationwide lockdown, I have received occasional requests from people unable to get groceries and have tried to assist them.
Now there is a much better service. The Student Volunteer Army, which originated in Christchurch after the earthquakes, has swung into action and assembled an excellent service operating out of Remuera New World.
If you need help, you can phone them on 0800 005 902. You can order and pay by debit or credit card and a properly vetted volunteer will deliver your groceries to your door.
And if you’d like to help, you can become a volunteer by visiting the www.sva.org.nz... website.
I have spoken to the SVA organisers and highly recommend this service and volunteer opportunity for our community.
As always, my office and I remain available to provide assistance in dealing with government agencies. You can reach us on 09 522 7464 or at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Does anyone know what is the deep fog horn sound coming from near the container terminal for the last few days??
