FREE fun project Pasifika peoples especially welcome!
Kia ora koutou!
Do you enjoy getting creative: be that more conventionally through music, dance, writing and photography, or weaving, sewing, cooking or reusing materials?
Are you interested in climate change and its impacts on the Pacific Islands?
I am offering a completely FREE project to help you explore your creativity, unleash your inner artistic self and learn more about climate change.
For the past 8 years I have worked for charities addressing climate change, and I am very much aware of its impact on our Pasifika brothers and sisters, their livelihood, land, oceans and culture.
Having just come back from the Pacific Climate Change Conference in Wellington where I heard a Tongan friend recounted his worry and fear the night Gita swept over his hometown, I feel compelled to help more people from other regions hear these stories and hence motivate them to be better guardians of our papatūānuku.
I have started a non-profit community project Pacific Pals www.facebook.com..., to connect Pasifika people and people from other regions through art and other creative means. I will be sharing my creative research, facilitating the discussions and providing links to inspiring stories.
It is opened to everyone for free and I would encourage especially those who want to explore their creativity but do not self-identify as “artists” to participate.
Onehunga is home to many Pasifika communities and I think many of you could be great storytellers.
If you have any doubts/questions, message me!

Lest we forget...
On this ANZAC Day, let's take a moment to remember and honor the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve our country.
Tell us who are you honouring today. Whether it's a story from the battlefield or a memory of a family member who fought in the war, we'd love you to share your stories below.
