Help us fill hungry tummies around Aotearoa

Julia de Ruiter from The Salvation Army NZ

With chilly days and nights just around the corner, winter is a really tough time for some of our most vulnerable New Zealanders. Through these colder months, we see a consistently high demand for food assistance which stretches supplies and resources in our foodbank hubs.

You can help by donating a Winter Bundle today. We've teamed up with Countdown to select a range of useful items that we know our foodbanks need.

Help us fill hungry tummies around the country today. Donate online or pop a food donation into the specially marked purple bins in Countdown stores throughout June.

Get fit for FREE!

Sarah Moore from Froot Camp

Hi neighbours - wanna get fit for summer? Froot Camp is a boot camp that's been running in Auckland Domain for three years - and it's completely free. Come and train in Auckland's most beautiful park and get fit with a bunch of fun, supportive and friendly peeps.

We train 6pm Tuesday and Thursdays and 9am Saturday (whatever the weather)

It's a great bunch of people and you couldn't train in a more beautiful spot. All fitness levels welcomed, and encouraged. You don't need to get fit before you come, we're here to help you do that.

Ellen Melville Centre is looking for volunteers!

CCRG from Auckland City Centre Residents' Group - CCRG

Hey Residents - we are enjoying having our community centre open on Saturdays! How about Sundays too? - can be done with some volunteer help - a fun way to do good, meet your neighbours, make new friends and enliven the city centre for its residents and others too.

For the last few months Ellen Melville Centre has been open on Saturdays which has been a huge success! We would now like to look at having the Lounge open on Sundays but we will need some help! It would be great if we had the lounge accessible for the community 7 days a week. If you are interested please let them know!

What's your message to the newly elected Auckland councillors?

Brittany Keogh Reporter from Central Leader

Hi neighbours, As Phil Goff is elected as Auckland mayor for a second three year term, a North Shore couple have a message for the incoming councillors and local board: invest in infrastructure over cutting rates. What issues would you like to see the council take action on this term in your community? Please write NFP if you don't want your comment used in stories.
