Neighbourly Love

Ima from Grey Lynn

Today my neighbour and I offered free parking to concert goers. Beautiful day to sit out and people watch and have a glass of wine. People drove past looked at the sign and maybe thought there was a catch??! Anyway we thought someone will come along and need parking - Ivanhoe directly across from Stadium. A mum came and parked and needed and extra ticket for her son. Not 10mins later a group of ladies walked by and saw our sign stopped to say that was neat and they had an extra ticket and offered it to us! - a Gold one at that ! Mum and son both got to go and we were left feeling all warm and fuzzy. I would hope someone would let me park on their lawn for free if I was in another neighbourhood. Hoping this would inspire you do the same out your way 😊.

Walks for every Auckland landscape

Communications Team from Auckland Council

Auckland – it’s hard to imagine a more geographically diverse region. Whether it’s rugged black-sand surf beaches, dense native forest, rolling green pastures or urban city centres, there’s something different to see and do.

Can you feed a family of five on $60 a week?

Georgia Reporter from Stuff

Hi neighbours,

Are you in need of some tips for cutting down your grocery bill? Auckland blogger Stacey Sampson might be able to help.

After a financial emergency drained her and her husband of all their savings, they were left with just $60 in their bank account to feed their three kids.

Now every month she does a "cheap week" that helps cut costs and minimise food wastage. To read about Stacey and her food tips, click here.

"This month we've done it twice to save some extra for Christmas," she says.

Is this something that you do in your family? Or is it something you'd like to try? Share your thoughts, or your own grocery tips to help your neighbours, in the replies below.
