Why we're putting quality first...

Cooper's Pet Kitchen

Hi neighbours! At Cooper's Pet Kitchen our food is free of cheap fillers like grains, corn, soy & wheat... but what does that really mean?

It means there’s more protein-packed nutrition in every bite. We’re big believers in quality over quantity so while our food may be a little more expensive than some, its nutrient density makes for smaller portions with more readily absorbable nutrients.

Get more bang for your dog’s bite with 50% OFF your first order with code NEIGHBOURLY.

This also means a decrease in what comes out the other end... less 'picking up' what they’re 'putting down' at the dog park if you catch our drift.

Rubbish and recycling costs responsible for Central Otago rates rises

Nicole Mathewson Reporter from Central Otago News

A small Central Otago town is facing a 16.5 per cent rates hike to cover increasing rubbish and recycling costs, growth and pressure from central Government.

Ratepayers across the region will be hit with hefty rates increases, but Roxburgh residents will be hit the hardest with the average rates bill there jumping to $2407 (up from $2068). Cromwell faces an 11 per cent increase, Alexandra 13 per cent and Clyde 14 per cent.

"It's not easy to tell someone on a fixed income, an elderly person in somewhere like Roxburgh, their rates are going up a significant amount. But it is something we can't avoid," Teviot Community Board Chairman Raymond Gunn says.

How will you cope with the rates rise? Do you think it's fair? Read more here and tell us what you think in the comments below.
